Gradina is by the most of people one of the loveliest bays on the island of Korcula, situated 5km from Vela Luka.

Here we find the Chapel of St Ivan built in the 14th century. The traditional regatta held 24th June in honor of St Ivan, starts from this bay, accompanied by mass and an entertaining program. It is unchanged by decades and it’s still original taste part of this atmosphere. This feast is well attended by locals and tourists.

In the middle of the bay there is the small islet Gubesa. Gradina is well lit at night and has a public telephone. It is very popular with the inhabitants of Vela Luka as well as many tourists who return every year.  Yachtsmen know this bay well and often berth here for the night. Although it is a large bay it is well protected from most winds. It is west facing, so during the hot summer months, the mild maestral breeze will refresh you.
